Mojibake Collectibles - My Journey from Coding Software to Sculting Worlds

Hello, I’m Alessandro Di Cesare, born in the beautiful city of Imola, Italy.

By day, I worked in the world of logic and code. My background is in computer science, and for years I built a stable career in automotive automation and artificial intelligence. It was the safe choice, the kind of path that looks perfect on paper. But in my heart, I knew it wasn’t mine.

I’ve always been a nerd—proudly so. As a child, I lived in a world of epic creatures, magic, and endless adventures. I devoured The Lord of the Rings, collected Power Rangers, and spent countless hours playing card and board games. My teenage years were defined by Magic: The Gathering(I still play!), and slowly, I fell in love with miniatures and collectibles. I knew then that I wasn’t just a fan of fantasy—I wanted to create it.

At 28, I made the scariest decision of my life: I left my job to pursue my dream. I dove headfirst into 3D sculpting and digital design, teaching myself everything from scratch. It was terrifying, exhausting, and absolutely worth it. That was the day Mojibake Collectibles was born.

🚀 The Journey of Mojibake

I started small, a true one-man studio running modest Kickstarter campaigns. Every project was a lesson, and slowly, people began to notice. They connected with the style, the characters, and the details. Each new release grew a little more than the last.

The real turning point came with Epic Props—a line of 3D-printable accessories and storage solutions for board games and card games. The response was overwhelming. Seeing how much the community loved them gave me the confidence to dream even bigger.

But I still felt something was missing. The miniatures were cool, but they deserved more. They deserved stories, lore, and entire worlds to live in. That realization led me down a new path: tabletop role-playing games, narrative design, and the creation of full physical books, adventures, and rich backstories. Miniatures became characters. Characters became stories. Stories became worlds.

👥 The Mojibake Team

Five years later, Mojibake has grown from a bedroom studio into a small, passionate team of five friends who share the same love for nerdy, imaginative worlds.

  • Alessandro (Me): Founder & Head 3D Designer. I’m the one who dreams up the creatures and worlds, and brings them to life in 3D.

  • Markos (Greece): Project Manager & Lead Writer. He takes my wild ideas and turns them into structured projects, filling our worlds with lore and narrative depth.

  • Sara (Italy): 3D Sculptor & Concept Artist. Her incredible eye for detail and sculpting skills make our miniatures truly stand out.

  • Lorenzo (Italy): Concept Artist & InDesign Designer. He crafts the visual presentation of our books and TTRPG materials, making sure the final product feels truly special.

  • Andrea (Italy): Illustrator. His stunning artwork brings our characters and stories to life on the page and screen.

What started as a personal dream in a small room has become an international creative team, and it still feels a little surreal to say that out loud.

❤️ Thank You

Mojibake has grown far beyond what I ever imagined, and that’s all because of you—the collectors, the backers, the dreamers who believe in what we create. Your support, trust, and enthusiasm are what keep this little studio alive.

I don’t know exactly where this path will take us next. But I do know one thing for sure: we will keep pouring our hearts, passion, and creativity into every miniature, every prop, every book, and every story. We will keep making things that we, as nerds, would want to hold in our hands and bring to our tables.

Thank you for being part of our journey.
